Quick Glances

im wide awake at 5am in the morning. Don't ask me why, or i might have to kill you.... i always wanted to work for the CIA so i could actually say that, the only problem is im scared of bullets. sounds like a very reasonable thing to be scared of right? well, im scared of falling in love and falling face flat too, but bullets seem more real to me. that is probably why i wouldn't join the Army too. but i think i am digressing from the issue i actually wanted to discuss. sooo, have you ever been walking all by yourself, on the street, or in a mall, or in school, or in the gym (well it doesn't really matter where you are walking, as long as you are walking) and then from across the room, or hall, or road, or right in front of you, your eyes meet with an attractive member of the opposite sex, and for that one second, you stare deep into the persons eyes, and as you stare into their eyes, it seems like part of the person reaches deep into your soul.... like your legs start to feel weak, your throat starts to feel a bit drier than usual, and whatever train of thought you previously had before your eyes met seems to become irrelevant. all these things happen all within a second or two, but deep in your mind, it all feels more like 5 minutes (well maybe i do stand there for 5 minutes, come to think about it)... but you get my point right? and in that one moment, time does stand still in your world.
well those are the moments i live for. In your mind, you start to think, "i hope the person i was just looking at felt time stand still the same way i felt it stand still", well, its either they felt that way, or they felt like you had a staring problem, or that you are a weirdo. but for the case of my post, im making believe that the person did feel the same way.
its funny how some minute moments in life actually make your mind run away with your fantasies, and you start to think of what the name of your first child would be named and stupid silly little things like that. the beautiful thing about crushes is that, it lets your mind wander for as long as you want it too, it lets you imagine, what if? what could be, and what we should be. we all experience crushes from one stage of life to another. so i know im not alone in this feeling.

as always, i leave y'all with a poem. leave a comment, on the poem or on the post or on both of them.

poem
let's steal quick glances
and exchange inside jokes while we are on the outside
familiar strangers
incognito in this foreign world
as butterflies flutter violently within the pits of our stomach
with our eyes wide closed
we daydream of all that we could ever be
lovers or friends but never none of the above
each gentle touch holds a promise
so we hold on tightly
as we tattoo X's and O's
to the lapel of our love stricken chest
our pulses in sync with each kiss we share
as my fond memories of you
are constantly on repeat
like you are my favorite song on my ipod

truthfully
i am fully aware
that i am no where near as religious as i ought to be
but every time i see you
i have the sudden urge to pray to God
that we can last longer
than the Quick glances we have perfected stealing

  6. How you gonna be first on your own blog?!?

    Hahahahaha!

That just made my day along with this post. I've had moments like that with complete strangers. It's natural and happens all the time.

We should be following each other. I'll go first. See you on Alee's Perspective.
